| The Board of Directors of The Gleitsman Foundation is deeply saddened to announce that Alan L. Gleitsman, founder and president, died on May 19, 2006, following a heart attack. He dedicated much of his life to recognizing and encouraging leadership in social activism worldwide, and has made provision that this important work be carried on after his death. As such, Mr. Gleitsman has established and endowed The Gleitsman Program for Social Activism at the Center for Public Leadership at Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government (http://www.ksg.harvard.edu/leadership/).
Due to the transition to the Center for Public Leadership, the International Activist Awards have been rescheduled from this spring to the fall of 2007. Information regarding other awards and activities of The Gleitsman Program for Social Activism will soon be available at the website given above.
